Swisstech 2012 - Focal point of the subcontracting industries  

Swisstech, which takes place in Basel every two years, came to a close last Friday, 23 November. Europe's central fair for the subcontracting industries took place for the 16th time and this year once again presented new developments, innovations and trends. During the four-day fair, 560 national and international exhibitors informed 22,412 specialist visitors from the fields of purchasing, procurement, manufacture and production.

Exhibition management and exhibitors are satisfied with the level of interest on the part of visitors despite the current situation in the mechanical engineering, electrical and metal industry and the price pressure from EU countries. In addition to manufactured products in the form of metal and plastic parts, the exhibitors showcased heat and surface treatments, trends in materials, semi-finished products and components as well as new and improved tools in an area of around 10,800 net square metres. Many exhibitors also used the fair for personal talks with existing and potential customers as well as for presenting their products and services. more
